Kai Li is currently the Marketing Director in Sales and Marketing at Johnson & Johnson.  Kai is accountable for leading strategy development and implementation of Zytiga® US marketing in Oncology with P&L responsibilities.  Zytiga® is a flagship oncology brand at J&J with over $2.5 billion global sales in 2015.  Kai led two launches in two years for Zytiga®, resulting in one of the most successful brand launches in J&J history.  Kai manages multi-million dollar marketing budget and delivered over $1 billion in sales in 2015. Kai joined J&J in 2005 and has held multiple leadership roles with a consistent track record for delivering on business results and objectives.  From 2009-2010, he was the launch leader for Zytiga® in Global Marketing.  In that capacity, Kai led the development of global brand strategy and ensured global launch readiness and alignment for Zytiga®.  From 2005 to 2009, Kai held leadership roles in Strategic Marketing at J&J and led the commercial development of several oncology drugs from phase I to III.   He was also instrumental in leading the ~$1 billion acquisition of Cougar Biotech by J&J in 2009. Prior to J&J, Kai worked as a business development manager in Biotechnology Division of Dow Chemical.  Kai also served as senior scientist at Dow, where he was in charge of an R&D unit and generated multiple patents. From 1996-1998, Kai served as Vice President of Business Development for Viridis, Inc., a biotech startup, where he co-invented the technology to bio-synthesize TamifluTM.  Kai also led the efforts to seek funding for the startup and was responsible for initial venture investment. Kai received an MBA in Marketing and Finance from The Wharton School, and earned a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry from Michigan State University and a BS in Chemistry from Peking University.
